Hydronet Energy > TOKYO LIGHTS AFRICA 2009 Event Report
By grace of Japan Post, Itochu Corporation, Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Kokusai Kogyo Holdings Co., Ltd., Hydronet Energy held a big event to provide the poor African children with ONE THOUSAND solar lights so that they can learn after the sunset.
Needless to say, most of the poor and the poorest are not connected to the electric grid. If solar power, quite often the most affordable energy, can light their darkness, they can;
1. Save the cost to buy kerosene or candle
2. Prevent pneumonic diseases often caused by kerosene or candle
3. Prevent fire often caused by kerosene or candle
4. Reduce CO2 emission
We truly hope even one of the thousand lights to help children to study, or to save from disease or fire.
