After a long time for trial, the solar lanterns finally reached Christian Mission Foster - Homes For Orphans (CMFO) ,Sierra Leone.
The Manager Mr. Alpha Bangura says;
The Solar lanterns are a real blessing to the children. Formally it was very difficult for them to study at night because of no electricity. At night their rooms are dark and they went through a lot of discomfort, but since they receive the lamps they can now study, sleep under light which was not happening at all. The first day we switch on the lamps there was a very loud shouting and clapping and dancing in the orphanage. In the surrounding people rush in they thought something bad happen to the children, until when they came and saw the lamps shining for the first time in the orphanage.
With the lamps they can now have group studies in their school especially during the night preparing for examination.
